maytag stacking laundry team with computer touch pad controls ,mfd feb 1991. washer overflows (doesn't stop filling) only when hot is selected. verified signal tubing to drum is clear and intact. swapped out water level switch pt#2-06418 . made no difference . interestingly though I observed that hot water valve is still open even if unit is unplugged and then plugged back in. would suspect water valve , but works consistently ok when warm is selected. any help would be appreciated , thanks in advance ...dave

Sounds like the water valve. If you pull the plug and hot water is still coming in, the valve is faulty. When warm is selected, both valves are open. It could be that the pressure from the cold water inlet is helping to close the hot water side when they both shut off simultaneously when level switch opens.

The valve sounds like the best bet, but make sure the hot water is getting pumped out ok.
