Refridge/freezer will not cool at all. The fan runs and I hear on and off clicking noises. Is it a bad compressor or a bad board?

Pry off the compressor side cover and check the start device, a small black plastic item AP3601983 Just take a picture of the wires to it and order a new one here.

When I get home I'll try taking the starter cover off. How does it come off? Just pry it with a screw driver? Thanks!

They usually have a wire holding it in, rather easy to pry off, but either take a picture of the wiring, or make a diagram on paper.

Ok. I have got the starter switch off the compressor. After I pried the cover off, I pulled two modules off. The one on top is brown with three terminals (part #2183454) and a white and black module on the bottom with one terminal (part # 2183456) The part #'s were taken off the modules. Should I replace both? Originally Posted by: richappy They usually have a wire holding it in, rather easy to pry off, but either take a picture of the wiring, or make a diagram on paper.

The bottom one is the overload which rarely fails, replace the upper ptc relay AP3601983 Make a diagram of the wiring to both items.

Thanks. I'll order the starter relay. By the way, the compressor was getting hot when I had the fridge plugged in, but no cooling at all. The fan ran and something (compressor?) was clicking on and off every 30 secs to a minute.
