Gene, I had a Kitchenaid cleaning failure as noted in your post w/ a (KEMS208DSS11) . I replaced both the thermal fuse and the line fuse as shown in your post for this problem. Now, my unit powered up with the error code E1 F2. This error is for a poor connection for the keypad. I have reseated the keypad ribbon several times and checked all the other connections with a meter. No luck. I feel I have a board issue yet do not know which of the two boards is bad. Open the control panel. Remove the keypad ribbon cable at the control board. Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for a hairline cracks, using a magnifying glass. Clean the ribbon cable with a pencil eraser. Clean the connector on the control board using electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush. Do not reconnect till it drys. Gene, I have done what you suggested here with no response. I have no action on the keypad yet the clock works. Am I at a point where I need to replace a board? Is it a potential casualty of the overheating before the fuses blew? It looks like there are two separate boards; the keypad sandwiched between the control panel frame and the computer board. I would guess the keypad would be the problem here.

The key pad aka a membrane switch is a part of the control panel. Post the color of the control panel and if you can post a picture it'll be even better.

Model Number: KEMC307KSS05 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 1 - 5 years I have a Kitchen Aid Superba Mod #KEMC307KSS05, SERIAL # XT0702305 -- it does not heat up. The display works, but after setting it, it just says Lo and stays that way. I cannot hear a fan go on either. I did have a repairman look at it a while ago and he tried to replace the thermal fuse in the front and said that did not work and told me I would have to replace the whole control board and it was going to cost about $550. I am trying to do a little research to see what else I can try first. It sounds like maybe try the thermal fuse in the back of the oven and a new blower? Any ideas here to help save me $100s would be greatly appreciated? Thank you. :)

The same problem I have read about. Used self cleaning cycle. Cycle finished and then nothing. No power. Flip breaker, that is fine. upper oven door, the one i was cleaning, was locked. Took advice from Gene, got door unlocked. Model number is KEBC208KSS02. Now, I intend to take Gene's advice and replace the control thermal fuse and oven shutdown thermal fuse. I have 1 problem. I am not able to locate the control thermal fuse. Anyone has any help. Also, does anyone know if Kitchenaid has stepped up to take care of this problem? Any recalls? Any help is greatly appreciated.

It is on the top right of the stove, just behind the control panel; requires the oven to be pulled out about 6 to 8 inches, and the protective shield removed. Just changed one on my son's, just like on mine. Sure sounds like it is the problem. We have the new version and the problem is solved by a different ventiallation flow. Long story.
