Portable washing machine usually shuts down before filling with water. Once I restart the machine it will finish filling and continue through the first cycle, but usually shuts down again before the second cycle. I'm able to start it again, but have to keep an eye on the machine at this point seeing as how it starts from the beginning when I restart it. After I restart it the second time I finish the wash manually by putting it into spin dry after the cycle.


The amount of water in the tub varies when it shuts down. Sometimes it shuts down when it's halfway filled, sometimes when it's nearly full.
