Hello I have been reading a bit about the various repairs that people have done to this Thermador Range. Ours is almost 17 years old and has had no repairs after the first year when the ignition systems of a couple of burners were changed under warranty. We have 3 issues none of which stops us using the range but they are getting increasingly annoying and I am wondering if it is time to replace it: 1. Relatively recently the oven temp light has become so dim that it is hard to read; 2. One of the burners - front right the one we use most -is temperamental (ignitor clicks and we smell gas but doesn't light). The fix for this is to clean around the ignitor - although it is kept pretty clean and no different than the others which don't have a problem. We clean with isopropyl alcohol and make sure we push the knob down at the same time as turning it and it works. Annoying as it happens about 3 times a week. 3. The light in the oven keeps blowing. We changed the bulb and it works for a week or so then doesn't. This is the least important of these issues to fix. We have done a lot of repairs throughout our house owning life but are now in our late 70s and probably would hire someone but wonder if is worth it. The range is in very good physical condition and the oven works perfectly but at 17 years and with parts not available perhaps I am thinking that we should consider replacing. Of course this is likely better made than replacements. I'll stop now and hope someone can advise at least on repair estimates. Many thanks.
