This has been an absolute work horse machine for many years. It has recently developed a problem of not draining properly, leaving clothes wet. It does spin, but slowly. Any ideas where the problem lies and the fix? Thanks in advance.

It may be as simple as the drive belt is old and slipping. Look underneath and see if there are signs of a worn belt on the pulleys.
