Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 5/29/2013(UTC) Posts: 2		The timer does not advance most of the time. I bought a new timer and replaced it but it still does not advance. I also noticed that when I open the door, it continues to spin. Is there a connection?

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 5/29/2013(UTC) Posts: 2		I checked the part and it has some differences so I called Sears where I ordered the part and they told me that with Maytag timers, you have to also go by the first 2 numbers of the serial number in order to get the correct part. The door switch is also connected somehow to the timer so it will not work properly if the timer is not working. Hmmm Interesting. So I have the correct timer coming. Of course the correct one is $25.00 more plus the shipping both ways. I hope this helps anyone with timer problems.
