You can see the difference by reviewing the attached descriptions on both ice makers.

This guy is just another spammer. His post is already removed by the site admin.

Gene-

Thank you for those PDF files. It proved your description of the replacement IM, and the one for my current icemaker led to my fixing the problem! It contained a troubleshooting chart that was right up my ex-Navy Nuke alley. Since I could make the IM cycle manually, the "No Harvest" leg of the tree was what I homed in on. "Feeler arm stuck" (or some condition that would mimic it) seemed like a good place to start. Last night I found that I could make the IM cycle by pulling FORWARD on the feeler arm. After each cycle I had to pull the feeler arm forward again. This morning I pulled the IM, prepared to dig into its guts and figure out the mechanics, but lo and behold I discovered the end of the spring that returns the feeler arm to its fully deployed position had come out of its retaining hole! When that spring pops out of its retaining hole it still has enough tension on it to partially deploy the arm. It's not obvious how far forward the feeler arm should deploy so I never noticed anything out of the ordinary. Now the steady green light makes sense! :) All that remains is to see if the spring pops out again and concoct a way to prevent it if it does.

I've observed three automatic cycles so I think my work here is done, and so is yours. Thank you for your help...I've always gotten my repair parts from you but this is the first time I've used the forum, and it's been a pleasure.
