Here are your parts Replacement parts for KENMORE 11062802100 | AppliancePartsPros.comSounds like the timer is shot re: the BK/BU contacts are welded together. I could not find a wiring diagram for this unit so I looked up another unit that uses the same timer. Yours should be close. See the attachment. Check in your control console, they like to store diagrams in there. Part number: AP3100522
You can confirm that the contacts are shot by: Unplug the unit. Unplug the wires going either to the BK or BU connection. This prevents you from reading an alternate/parallel circuit path. Set the timer to off. Measure across the contacts. Should be infinite ohms (open). If you do not own a meter, I would suggest you purchase a one. You can get a decent digital multimeter for under $20.00. You do not need fancy though it is nice if the leads are a couple feet long. If it saves ordering one unnecessary part it has paid for itself and you end up owning a useful tool. Most places will not let you return electrical parts so if you order it, you own it. A couple things to watch when measuring ohms and continuity 1. Always remove power from the machine otherwise you could blow your meter. 2. Always disconnect at least one side of any device you are checking. This eliminates the possibility of measuring an alternate/parallel circuit path. 3. When checking for closed contacts and continuity use the lowest scale (Usually 200 ohms). Then try higher scales. This scale is 0 to 200 ohms so if the device you are measuring is 300 ohms this scale would show an open circuit which it is not, you are just measuring outside the scale's dynamic range. 4. When you start always short the meter leads together. This will tell you that the meter is working and if there is any 0 offset. There is a good STICKY at the start of this forum about it's use. |

Apologies on resurrecting this thread 4 years later but I am experiencing a similar problem and need some assistance. I have a Kenmore 300 dryer (model # 110.68322700) that will not shut off when the timer gets to the off position. It shuts off fine when the door is opened but if I close the door, leave it in the off position, and push the start button, it starts right up.
All of the continuity checks for the timer are where they should be based on the wiring diagram. The timer motor still moves correctly and when I check the continuity in the off position, there is no continuity from the BK (power in) side of the timer switch to the BU (power to the motor) side of the timer. Additionally, I have checked that the heating element is not grounded and the thermostats are all good. The only slightly abnormal thing I could find is that the resistance across the heating element is 0 ohms where the wiring diagram shows that it should be 7.8-11.8 ohms. The element itself looks fine and is not shorting anywhere that I can see. The dryer is providing hot air and dries clothes fine, it just won't stop running until I open the door when it's in the off position.
I would appreciate any help anyone could offer. Let me know if you need any amplifying information.
