I just replaced the inner door seal and now the door will not stay closed. Loosened the door screws to see if the latch had any adjustment, but did not notice any. I installed the seal tight into the groove and cut it so it does not roll under the door when closed. It seems like the latch cannot hold the pressure of the newly added seal.

Any ideas?

BP,

Why did you replace the door seal ?

Was it because the door would not shut or would pop open ?

If your serial number starts with FU14, or earlier, You should order and install these two parts:

Part number: AP3996721
Part number: AP3996721

Part number: AP4262183
Part number: AP4262183

Revised door catch and latch assemblies(designed for this complaint for your unit).

Here is the original service notice, with the other checks you need to make, before replacing any parts.
(disregard the part numbers listed in the service notice).

I replaced the seal cause the old one had become hard and crusty and it had started to leak.

The serial # is: FM4701300

BP,

Those door seals had a habbit of doing that, that's why they revised them.

Your serial number indicates :

That you will need to order the revised latch and catch assemblies, per my previous post.

Good Luck,
