Kenmore over the range type model 401.80093. eveything but heat works. Do you have a trouble shoot list to follow or more likely place to start based on repair history of the microwave? Of course, discharging Cap is first.

Does it make any unusual noise?
The model number you posted is incomplete.

That is the model number in the owners manuel. I will see what is on the microwave. Did not notice a different noise, I can check it again tonight.

Gene,
I checked the serial number on the unit and you are correct the full serial number is 401.80093700. I also verified that no unusal noise is apparent when running. I did however find that the external light bulb is blown when checking to make sure eveything is working except heating.

The problem can be a bad high voltage transformer, a bad diode, a bad magnetron or a bad control board. The microwave has to be removed from the cabinet for the diagnosis and/or repair. - The control board Part number: AP4337094
