Typical custer statement"Its always been like this" , but It has.. hot cycle is too hot, but the MED. temp cycle is fine, just takes two cycles to dry most loads. Not a problem for me I always used the high but a new roomie doesn't like the hot-hot-high. I see there are five trermostats on this thing...what do you suggest.

Most likely the problem caused by a clogged exhaust line. Disconnect the vent hose from the dryer and run a few loads without the hose. If you see a difference - clean the vent inside the walls.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Hotpoint dryer Model NVLR333ET0WB

Gene, thanks for the reply, the vent is clear and clean, this has been the condition since day one out of the box. High heat setting is VERY HOT. Med. is less heat but takes too long to dry most loads.

Disconnect the vent hose from the dryer, put a food thermometer into the vent outlet and measure the temperature on the high heat. Post the results.
